Career Highlights: Ms. Strable-Soethout has served as Chair, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company, and its wholly owned subsidiary, Principal Life Insurance Company since September 2025. She served as President and Chief Executive Officer from January 2025 to September 2025, and as President and Chief Operating Officer from August 2024 to January 2025. Ms. Strable-Soethout served as Chief Financial Officer from 2017 to August 2024.
Ms. Strable-Soethout joined the Company in 1990 and has served in various executive leadership roles, including serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer as well as President of the Benefits and Protection division.
Ms. Strable-Soethout is a member of the Board of Directors of Simpson College. She previously served on the United Way Worldwide Board of Trustees after holding various positions for the United Way of Central Iowa. She also served as chair of the Board of Directors for LIMRA LOMA Global (LL Global, Inc.).

Education:Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
